Father Cesta stands on the edge of madness, his mind fractured by his research into the ancient summoning magicks of Africa. Combined with the esoteric teachings of the Herald, his writings on the Blood of Life and the lost Ge’ez language have become essential to the Vatican’s arcane scholars. Now empowered beyond mortal limits, Cesta leads a cadre of monstrous constructs into the battle for Venice.

At the head of this group is Father Cesta himself. As the first of the Summoning Priests, he can call down the Heavenly Host upon the wicked, striking all in its path. His presence revitalizes nearby constructs, driving them to fight harder and even allowing them to pass effortlessly through solid objects. Following in his wake is the Galilean Priest, a powerful mage capable of walking across water as if it were solid ground and bending its flow to his will.

These Invokers never march alone. Rising from the depths of the canals is the Thalassic Messenger, a hulking mass of sludge and spirit. Incredibly durable, it shrugs off powerful blows before drowning enemies without warning. Completing the group is the Celestial Congregation, ethereal spirits able to slip through walls and barriers to shield the Invoker who binds them to the world of the living.
