Dabbling in magic is never an exact science. Each time a mage peers through the Rent in the Sky to draw eldritch energy, there’s always a risk that the spell will twist into something unintended. The Starspawn is the result of such a catastrophic miscast, dragged into the world from somewhere far beyond. A writhing tangle of mouths, tentacles, and alien limbs, it is nothing more than a ravenous beast. Though its origin echoes that of the Rashaar, it follows no master and can only be loosely herded toward an enemy—always with the danger that it may turn on its supposed allies.

This set contains a Starspawn, one of the premier mage hunters in Carnevale. It boasts excellent offensive power, swift movement, and a suite of potent special skills that make it a threat on any battlefield. Its standout ability is the Thirsty rule, allowing the Starspawn to move whenever an enemy mage casts a spell—perfect for punishing reckless sorcerers.

As a Gifted character, the Starspawn can join the Commedia dell’Arte for an especially strange gang composition. It may also be taken in any other faction, giving your crew an unmatched witch hunter—albeit not the brightest one.
