A graduate in physics, Roberta’s life changed with the emergence of the Los Alamos Rift at the Trinity test site, leading her to dedicate herself to the study of Rift Energy in Konflikt '47. The deployment of terrifying Axis Rift creations — particularly the dread Totenkorps — in late 1944 compelled her to volunteer for deployment to the European theatre, where she could directly study the battlefield applications of Rift technology.
Despite numerous objections from the US Army, her request was eventually approved. Roberta’s no-nonsense attitude, mental resilience in the face of Rift horrors, and willingness to operate close to the fighting quickly set her apart from other scientific advisors. Fiercely independent, she often separated from her assigned squad to pursue her research, yet gradually earned the respect of the soldiers tasked with protecting her thanks to her surprising effectiveness in combat situations.
Now considered the United States’ best hope for understanding — and potentially controlling — the Dresden Rift, Roberta has returned to the front lines in 1947. Assigned to the 109th Airborne Division bound for Dresden, she has been equipped with prototype armour designed specifically for use with a Firefly jump pack. True to form, she has already begun modifying the equipment to better suit her experimental needs.
