The Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) was one of the most successful and widely used German armored fighting vehicles of World War II. Built on the reliable Panzer III chassis, it featured strong frontal armor, a low profile ideal for ambushes, and a powerful 75mm gun. Beloved by infantry for its ability to support assaults and destroy enemy armor, the StuG III claimed more tank kills than any other German vehicle by the war’s end.
